Imprisoned Border Agents Lose Last Appeal
Lou Dobbs Tells Americans - Vote For ONLY Candidate Who Vows: "I Will Personally Release Them"
Washington, D.C.: Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin,(www.Baldwin08.com) appearing on the Lou Dobbs Tonight TV program (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-DyfFa0tZg), promised, if elected, to release imprisoned U.S. Border Patrol agents Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos. (http://www.newswithviews.com/baldwin/baldwin386.htm)
Earlier in the day, Baldwin spoke at a D.C. press conference where Congressman Ron Paul urged Americans to bypass major party candidates this November and instead vote for a candidate such as Baldwin. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZ7fcbst3VE)
Baldwin joined host Lou Dobbs to discuss the plight of the agents, sent to prison for almost 20 years for defending the U.S. border against an armed, convicted drug smuggler.
Agent Ramos' wife, Monica who detailed the horror of her husband's imprisonment, joined Baldwin, the only presidential candidate who has acknowledged the agents and promised their release.
Lou Dobbs: 'Chuck Baldwin, Constitution Party candidate - Well the one thing that can be done is people can vote for Chuck Baldwin for president of the United States in 2008."
Chuck Baldwin: "And Lou, the first day that I take office, is the last day that this lady's husband stays in jail. I will issue a pardon immediately upon assuming the White House.' (http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0809/10/ldt.01.htm)
Baldwin today pointed out: "The agents just lost their second appeal which means they will endure years behind bars - simply for doing their jobs - unless I am elected president."
Baldwin received the highest rating ("excellent") from pro-secure borders group Numbers USA, (www.numbersusa.com) while McCain and Obama were rated "abysmal". Libertarian candidate Bob Barr was rated "bad" on the immigration reform issue.
Baldwin will speak about his pro-secure borders, no-amnesty immigration stance at the Conservative Leadership Conference, September 20, in Las Vegas (http://conservativeleadershipconference.com/2008/07/31/chuck-baldwin-to-speak-at-clc-08/)
